PLAYING WITH POSITIVITY

Updated: Jul 25, 2020

Being positive during the current global climate can be quite difficult. However, I am a huge believe that you can control your happiness. It can be hard because you be surrounding yourself with negativity, i.e. social media, news, vulgar music, toxic people; these are honestly distractions that are coming in the way of you and your happiness.

What we don't realize is that once we take a step away for those negative outlets and you instantly feel relief, and your nerves and emotions start to feel at ease. I am a huge believe of your environment can strongly affect your emotions that you feel. This about this, what ever you are feeding your mind stays in your subconscious. So what you do can impact your very life both positively or negatively. I say we should choose to add a little bit of positivity in our lives each and every day.

“LOOK FOR SOMETHING POSITIVE IN EACH DAY, EVEN IF SOME DAYS YOU HAVE TO LOOK A LITTLE HARDER."

Let me share with you some ways that you can bring in positivity to your life, or as I like to say "play with positivity".

  1. Start a daily gratitude journal. Write down 10 things you are grateful for each morning . This can be a fun game you play with yourself, you can challenge yourself to list 10 different things each day.

  2. Turn on some fun positive music. For me I like listen to Latin pop or worship music and just like to move around and feel the beat!

  3. Spend some time in nature. For me, I love going hiking or even for a quick stroll in one of our nature preserves.

  4. Eating clean foods. Believe it or not, what you eat can affect your mood! Filling your body with nutritious, clean foods can help boost your spirit but you can play around in the kitchen by making fun recipes.

  5. Spending time with fun, positive friends. Your tribe is super important! Surrounding yourself with people who bring you up and encourage you is so important to your overall spirit and health.

  6. Working out! Working out will not only whip you into shape, but it will release some of our dopamine ( or our happy hormone).

  7. Perform an act of kindness. This will be an automatic pick me up. I love paying it forward whether I pay for the person behind me in line or sending a random gift to a friend for no reason.

  8. Write Thank you notes to your loved ones! I picked up this habit from one of my good friends, she is always sending out thank you cards to people and makes this a monthly habit.

These are just a few of my ways I play with positivity. Feel free to share how you play with positivity! I would love to hear from you.

XO,

KC
